Just Nike it. Just do it.
December 22, 2009A habit of mine that I’ve noticed and attempting to overcome is my habit of constantly attempting to place everything in order before I get to the major point, the meat of what I am trying to do. In this instance, it is writing on this blog. I feel that I have to perfectly organize my posts, have a complementing blog theme, organize my ideas, etc etc. The list goes on and on. That everything has to be grammatically correct, sentence structures acceptable by my AP ENglish teacher Mrs. Wright. But, I’m able to step back and see this as another form of procrastination in my life. Maybe writing in blogs is also another form of procrastination for some, and maybe in the future for myself as well; but right now, I feel that I should do this. I see so many possibilities that this blog can achieve–personal business, helping others, getting my ideas down, motivating myself.
Just nike it. Just doing it–is exactly what I’m doing. I promise you, my non-existent readers and followers, [for now], that I will work on my organizational skills in writing this blog; but until that time, I will continue to pour my thoughts as they come and how they come to be.
Why am I even doing this blog? Well, my friend Duylam introduced me to wordpress; here he is http://oohdee.wordpress.com/ . Anyways, my goals for this blog are the following (not in any particular order). [And I write very specific goals in order to achieve them with clarity–influenced by Cal Newport (www.calnewport.com)
- Self motivation to follow through with things that I say I will achieve and accomplish by making my goals known.
- Putting my ideas and thoughts of psychology interests, specifically lucid dreaming, memory, mnemonics, microexpressions (behavioral psychology), body language—mostly practical things.
- Advertising a small future tutoring business, specializing in the SAT, college apps, scholarship apps, high school student life style for success, perhaps piano?
- Ultimately, sharing ideas that other people can relate to, inspiring, clarifying (ELUCIDATING–ooooo), motivating, and establishing several strong connections with other readers and/or bloggers.
Have a good Christmas, Hanukkah, break, holiday etc. I really do not like how things have to be politically correct (random thoughts)
P.S. Just remember, there are others who have bigger problems than you do in life.
I promise you, my non-existent readers and followers
